Malware Analyst – Journeyman


  • Analyze malicious code by using static and dynamic reverse engineering techniques
  • Employ industry tools such as Ida Pro, OlleyDBG, REMnux etc.
  • Manipulate reverse-engineering tools and scripting languages as well as virtual machine/networking software
  • Identify the methodology of hackers posing a potential threat to networks and systems
  • Document results in time-sensitive reports, presentations, and analyst exchanges
  • Conduct research, document, and develop malware analytical methods and tools
  • Identify and document high impact, emerging, and complex malware threats
  • Collaborate with peers across the community
  • Experience with Assembly Language, Debugging, and C and C++ Programming
  • Initiative, solid judgement, and strong work ethic requiring minimal supervision
  • Strong presentation and writing skills
  • Experience with signals intelligence databases and reporting is highly desired
  • Experience with Snort IPS


  • 8-12 years of analytic and/or reporting experience with Malware analysis
  • Understand Malware analysis and team requirements
  • Work independently with little or no guidance
  • Provide assistance to other team analysts
  • Must be a U.S Citizen. 


  • GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification
  • Certified Revers-Mandiant Analysis I or similar malware course
  • Engineering Analyst (CREA) certification, or Advanced Malware Analyst (AMA) certification, etc. are highly desired
  • BA/BS in an IT related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
